I don't like the part where it says 'most' people will seen an increase in rares. Does that mean they don't drop for people with a decent inventory of golds.

Not too impressed with the wording of that one, could mean anything.

C'mon, where's your sense of fun Trell? The excitement of opening a chest you now know will give you something (albeit prossibly crap....but you never know ) is much better than knowing you probably wouldn't get anything previously unless you were soloing - and the chests do give good drops as we talked about the other night.

As for overall drops, me, Trell and another guildie were griffin soloing last night and we got a pile of gold drops between us - good ones as well - I got a nice max sword with 3/-1 vamp hilt and other bonuses plus a not max gold longbow which I salvaged a 5/-1 vamp string out of

...which makes up for the super abs I lost salvaging my old armor when I bought my 15k kit last night And then I had to sit and watch the super abs price go up from 90k to 100k at the vendor

There are still old-style chests like that. It's during the Killroy quest. I rarely see golds, if any, drop from them though; mainly purples. I have, however, seen a Crystalline drop, still purple though.

i just farmed grenths and sorrows and got only one purple fellblade of fortitude+28, but the other 7 chests i opened had all gold bows
i also got a black dye drop and many blue weapons

I found something like that as well (Felblade purple) I'm like...ftw! Anyway, I'm glad that the drops have improved even if it was only slighty.

I agree with trelloskilos that its a gamble. And a gamble only worth the effort if you hope to find something that will make you stronger in PvP. Because that's the place where +1 of anything can make difference. For PvE its less important. And that's making the chest idea weird: Its a PvE feature that does not add much to PvE. Being a PvE player myself I stopped caring about finding stuff that adds 1 point to something long ago: Being covered by a party just makes this BS
But for PvP it makes hell of a difference! So don's hesitate to spend your honestly farmed gold on chests lol.

I just got the following from the last three chests I opened:

Defensive Bone Staff of Enchanting
Energy +10
Cold Damage 10-20 (req. 8 Death Magic)
Improves Casting speed using Fire Magic Skills (Chance: 18%)
Improves Skill Recharge (Chance: 9%)
Armor +5
Enchantments last 15% longer

Zealous War Axe of Enchanting
Slashing Damage 6-28 (req. 13 Axe Mastery)
Damage +19% (While Health is Below 50%)
Energy gain on hit: 1
Energy regeneration: -1
Enchantments last 19% longer

Zealous Summit Hammer of Hammer Mastery
Blunt Dmg: 19-35 (req. 11 Hammer Mastery)
Damage +16% (while Health is below %50)
Energy gain on hit:1
Energy regeneration -1
Hammer Mastery +1 (15% chance while using skills)

Not the best items in the world, but not bad either. All three items are gold, and the staff isn't a bad item for a Ne/El or an El/Ne.

Sometimes I wonder if people ever read the updates on the website.

Anyways, I'm not happy about the increase on the chests. Farming and trading isn't what it use to be.

When they said they would increase chest drops for some people, I wasn't worried. Then yesterday I opened 30 Shiver chests, and 5 miners. Not one gold drop. Not fun IMO

This is what I got from a chest. Mind you that this is a key that I used from a drop. I don't buy keys.

Damage 13% (while health is above 50)
Life Stealing 5

The UW chests got heavily hit by the nerfhammer. The other chests are still okay though. I haven't noticed much of a difference in drops from shiverpeak / miners chests. Just the UW chests started to give crap items. In several UW runs ever since that update (UW Runs = Cleaning all planes) there was a total of 4 gold items from the chests. In like 9 runs. So basically we had 8x9x5 chest openings (there are allways 5 chests in the UW... just spawning randomly and not counting the Reaper Chests) and got 4 gold items in TOTAL.
Before the update we got 137 Golditems distributed amongst the group in the same amount of runs. With the same team. And no, we haven't been farming the Underworld or any other place at all. Just the normal pace of playing and the occasional entrance into the underworld or fissure when europe holds favor.

So it dropped to 4/360 from 137/360. Anyone still feeling like crying around "lolooooll just luck, just luck no nerfing! lol noob!"? They have been nerfed badly. I'm not saying if i like or dislike the change. Just stating the obvious for those folks around that just plain love to raise the finger and pretend nothing has been nerfed.

Just to mention it, in case some hypocrits come and pretend me being lying. Each UW Run roughly takes us 3-4 hours. Sometimes we are accessing it from the international district via Lornar. We are taking numbers of a lot more than loot. For example we also observe the common loot distribution. We have calculated the AL of almost every mob. We know their hitpoints, their skills, their strengthes and their weaknesses. Just wait for the guide to come :P

Well the easiest place to test it out with my W/Mo was Crystal Desert.

Before the update, I got 4 golds out of 5 chests opened (the last 5 times).
After the update, I got 10 purples out of 10 chests opened.
All chests opened were done during griffon runs.
I don't care much about the chest thing, its just a fun gamble to open a chest and see if I get some rare (usually crap) weapon.

I got a gold max chaos axe req 9 from an obsidian chest. Sold it in game for 100k and when the guy ID'd it it was 13% vs hexed foes.
